.: FULLVIEW RECOMMENDED! :.
.: PLEASE NOTE: IT IS ONLY A SKETCH, SO NO NEED TO COMMENT ON THE SKETCHINESS! :.

After reading people's crits (thanks, all!) on the last version I decided to totally redesign the whole thing, making it more mystic and bestial, and to also make it seem more ornamented and hand-built. And to those who might notice, yes, the head is almost totally a steal from the amazingly gifted concept artist Feng Zhu. Why? Because it's cooool!! The rest is all me, though.

Mech design for my friend Nemanja's roleplaying game Universalis Mutatis. This particular mech is for the alien race Karkadossians, to which my character Kordokai belongs (see him here: [link]). Specializing in martial arts rather than gun emplacements, Karkadossian mechs sport very little actual weapons...relying rather on unmatched agility and speed. The knuckles of the mighty warmachines are equipped with emulations of the bony knobs Karkadossians have on their own hands, enabling the mech to rip and tear the armour of any enemies.

This is actually one of my first ventures into mech design, SO GIVE ME YOUR CRITIQUE OR SUGGESTIONS!!! I NEEED IT!

Hey there Robert... I think that you could without any problem make the head a little bit bigger, and lower it a little making the neck a little longer... giving it a sort of vulture like feel. This could give it a combination of looking elegant and mean at the same time.

The Colouring is good.

I agree with Lyn. Try to make the legs thinner. They are a little to clumsy. Maybe think of something like W40K Eldar titans...
Well. Apart from this I think it's very cool...

There's something intensly fascinating about mecha. I've never been much into them, but still, I think they look cool. I also think that you've captured that feel here, a nice lill sketch.

I wouldn't follow maximus' advice and make his legs more humanlike. Remember that dinosaurs in all likelyhood were even faster and more agile than humans. However, since this is a mech and not a live being, it doesn't really need so big thighs, because it doesn't have any muscles. Of course, there might be pistons and whatnot hidden underneath that casing, but I think it would have been cool if it wasn't covered up: imagine a solid steel "bone" central girder, surrounded with lots of visible pistons and moveable parts. Maybe even some funky electronics poking out.

One other thing that you could look at, it the fact that those feet make him seem a bit heavy. Maybe something even more lizard-like, that allows for more kicking and lifting?

Still, it's neat-o-cool as it is.

Awesome crits, man...exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for. I'll definately think about implementing a lot of what you said into the ext design. Really, thanks alot. :)
